MOST PEOPLE KNOW DESIGNER NIGO for his work in fashion alongside Pharrell.

The pair came together in 2005 to create popular brands Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream which are still going strong up to this day.

And Nigo is the founder of a Bathing Ape, although it’s widely thought that Pharrell is the owner of the company.

But now Nigo has a new task on his hands, reviving fashion label Kenzo.

The Japanese native was handed the task when he was named their new artistic director last week.

Although he’s been handed a difficult task, Nigo feels like it’s fate for him to be working with the brand, which is owned by LVMH, as he shares a few similarities to its owner, Takada Kenzo.

Nigo revealed, reported by GQ: “I was born in the year that Takada Kenzo san opened his first store in Paris.

“We both graduated from the same fashion school in Tokyo. In 1993, the year that KENZO joined the LVMH Group, I started my career in fashion.”
