JAY-Z’s stepping into the gambling business with online sports shop Fanatics to open a sportsbook branch in New York, and he can’t wait to get going.

The move will see Hov become the first black investor in the city to be involved with a sportsbook, which allows gamblers to bet on several sports at one time.

And coming from a housing project in Brooklyn, the business mogul’s aware of how much of a big thing it is for him and also his culture.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, he said: “New York’s a big thing, obviously, I’m a kid from Brooklyn you know so it’s big for us.”

For Hov, it’s exciting and important that he can be the first black man to represent his community in New York’s gambling scene.

He added: “It’s very important because typically in these things there’s no sort of diversity, there’s no one that represents the city, no one from the city.

“So, all those things make it a real exciting opportunity.”

It’s vital that Jay and people that look like him are rubbing shoulders with company executives as he thinks it’s the only way to affect change in communities like he comes from in Brooklyn.

The platinum-selling artist explained: “You gotta get people in the room.”

Hov’s been busy making business moves recently and he was named the new face of Tiffany with his wife Beyonce earlier this month.

And the Roc Nation boss also revealed that he loves working with his wife as she pays so much attention to detail, which inspires him.

Jay said: “She’s super detail-oriented, obviously, as you can see from her work.

“She’s an incredibly hard worker, super talented, very inspiring.”
